Arunachal Pradesh Health Minister Alo Libang inaugurated a one-day awareness training programme on tribal immunisation on Thursday. The training programme was organised by the state National Health Mission in collaboration with development partner UNICEF, WHO, UNDP and JSI. 

Representatives from NGOs and CBOs from various districts participated in the programme.

The health minister encouraged the participants to actively support, coordinate and collaborate with the state health department in improving routine immunisation and covid vaccination coverage in the state.

The training was conducted with the motive to sensitise the participants and to create awareness among the tribal community on routine immunisation, various vaccine-preventable diseases (VPD) and COVID-19 vaccination.

The training consisted of PowerPoint presentations, animation videos, group exercises and discussion.

C R Khampa, MD (NHM) and Dr D Padung, SIO, also elaborated on the Immunisation programme of the state, challenges faced and possible solutions to bridge the gaps.
