Minister

Arunachal Pradesh’s Tourism Minister Nakap Nalo, who is an alumnus of the government higher secondary school (GHSS) in Upper Subansiri, Daporijo said he would extend all possible help and assistance in regaining the lost glory of his alma mater. He mentioned this during a meeting of the school’s alumni association on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Nalo said that he, along with the district’s MLAs Rode Bui, Tanya Soki and Nyato Dukam will meet the Upper Subansiri DC soon to discuss the school’s development.

The minister further urged the alumni association to “coordinate with the senior officers and citizens of the district and visit the school from time to time to know the problems faced by the students and the teachers.”

Daporijo MLA Tanya Soki also assured the alumni of his support for further development of the school. Serving a warning to those who have encroached on the school’s land, MLA Soki said that nobody should come and seek any help from him when the authority starts taking action against the land encroachers.

He said that stringent action must be initiated against the encroachers.

Disaster Management & Rehabilitation Director Komkar Dulom emphasised on posting of subject teachers and “creation of double TGT posts for the school.”

He appealed to all former students of the GHSS to give back to their alma mater in whatever capacity they can.

PWD SE Dube Dulom requested Minister Nalo, who is also the land management minister, to instruct the deputy commissioner to issue provisional land allotment certificates to all the government departments in the district before the departments are shifted to the mini-secretariat, which is likely to be completed in a couple of months, to avoid encroachment on the departments’ land.

All four MLAs of the district gave assurance to contribute Rs 20 lakhs each to revive the past glory of the GHSS.
