A disaster awareness programme and mock exercise on earthquake, landslide, fire accident and flood, etc., was conducted during a Sarkar Aapke Dwar (government at your doorstep) camp at Barak village under Soha circle in Tirap district, on Monday.
The awareness programme and mock exercise were conducted by the District Disaster Management Authority in collaboration with Tirap district administration under the supervision of the SDRF team from SDRF Regional Centre, Khonsa.
Pik Tayom, CO and DDMO, Tirap explained the aims and objectives of the awareness programme. He also requested the participants to be very careful during the winter seasons as most of the cases of fire accidents are reported during this season.
Akan Regon, SDO, Deomali also spoke.
The programme was participated by all HoDs from Deomali sub-division, PRI members, volunteers, NGOs and students from five villages viz. Barak village, Old Dongrong, New Dongrong, New Phinthing, Old Phinthing and Kenon villages.
