Arunachal: Multiple cracks & landslips in Renging village of East Siang district

Multiple cracks and landslips in and around Renging village in East Siang district are said to be posing a serious threat to the village’s limited population.

Since the ground fissures and landslips emerged on the village’s upslope in July this year, locals have been fearful and restless, according to Renging village sources.

On the request of the state director of disaster management, two geologists from the Geological Survey of India (GSI), State Unit – Sachin R, who is also the director of GSI SU, and Manoj Kumar Sahu – conducted an assessment in the impacted regions of the hamlet on the 20th and 21st of July.
