The foundation stone for the ambitious Sela Tunnel project was laid by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, on 9th February 2019, and construction commenced on 1st April 2019. Since then, the project has been a formidable engineering challenge, testing the skills and dedication of those involved.
Brigadier Raman Kr SV, Chief Engineer of Project Vartak at the Border Roads, provided a comprehensive briefing to the Governor on the progress made at the tunnel site. He affirmed that the Sela Tunnel project would be etched in history as one of the most challenging and demanding infrastructure ventures ever undertaken in the country.
The Sela Tunnel’s completion is eagerly awaited not just within the state but also across the nation. Its inauguration will mark a significant milestone in India’s infrastructure development and will strengthen connectivity and accessibility to the remote regions of Arunachal Pradesh.
