The Upper Subansiri district administration is making every effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus in the district. The administration has engaged all government officials, including teachers, in the fight against the pandemic by assigning various tasks to them.
The school teachers have been made in-charge of different colonies and markets to collect daily health reports and status of the coronavirus patients, including those under home quarantine.
DC Mika Nyori has imposed a night curfew from 13 May till the end of the month in Daporijo town, restricting the movement of people from 4 pm to 6 am. Various coronavirus containment measures, including spitting in public places, have been implemented, besides compulsory wearing of face masks.
Currently, there are 59 patients in home quarantine and one in the Covid care centre in the district. One patient was discharged on Friday, informed Dr T Dakpe. The inspection bungalow in Dumporijo and Mel Bottom in Daporijo have been designated as Covid care centres.
