Arunachal: Victory Flame of Swarnim Vijay Varsh Arrives in Lower Dibang Valley

The victory flame of the Swarnim Vijay Varsh arrived in Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) district and was ceremonially installed by the Indian Army on Saturday. The victory flame arrived via Dambuk, where the Indian Army paid homage at the war memorial of the Anglo-Abor war.

Speaking on the occasion, Major General Dhirendra Singh Kushwah informed about the Vijay Mashaal (Victory Flame) and its unique history. He informed that on the 50th anniversary of Indo-Pak war 1971, on 16 December (Vijay Diwas) the Prime Minister had lit the victory flames and sent them out to travel across the country and pay homage to the war veterans and martyrs for their supreme sacrifices.

The Major General said that the  relationship between the public and the army is a special and unique one and called for all to have a positive approach, stay united and work together peacefully to develop the area and achieve set goals and targets. 

Lower Dibang Valley DC KN Damo called the joint venture between the IV Gorkha Regiment of the Indian Army and the District Administration, a programme that would instill a sense of patriotism amongst the people and also provide a glimpse into the disciplined life, work and opportunities in the armed forces, which would encourage the youth of the district to look towards the armed forces as a career option.

The day witnessed the flagging off of two ambulances for Iduli and Bolung PHC, sponsored by POWERGRID, Roing under its CSR programme by MLA Mutchu Mithi and DC K. N. Damo.
