Arunachal’s Abraham Tigit Sorang becomes Second Mountaineer to scale Everest this Season

In a huge achievement, Abraham Tigit Sorang from Arunachal’s Kra Daddi District scaled Mt. Everest on May 31, 2021, becoming the second mountaineer from Arunachal Pradesh to climb the peak this season.

“Sorang who hails from the Sepha village under Pip-Sorang circle of Kra-Daadi district, is on his way back but facing tough challenges due to inclement weather,” informed the Indian Weightlifting Federation vice president Abraham K Techi.

It is to be mentioned that Abraham Tigit Sorang scaled Mt. Everest 20 days after Dirang-based National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS)’s Tashi Yangjom claimed it on May 11, 2021- thus, making Sorang the second mountaineer from Arunachal Pradesh to climb the peak this season.
