The Lower Subansiri district administration has declared Hapoli Township as containment zone for a period of 14 days starting from September 12.
The decision was taken after the township witnessed a rapid spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in several colonies. As per protocol, the residents will not be allowed to venture out of their residence during the containment period.
However, the residents can only come out if the medical team assigned there gives them permission.
District Magistrate Swetika Sachan, who is also the chairman of the District Disaster Management Authority, has urged the Ziro citizens to cooperate with the medical team and the administration in contact tracing.
