Arunachal: Bomdila Celebrates 36th Statehood Day

The 36th Statehood Day was celebrated in a fitting manner at the Buddha Stadium in Bomdila today, February 20th, along with the rest of the state.

As the event’s chief guest, ZPC Rinchin Zomba Merapka unfurled the national flag. In her public address, she urged young people to say NO to drugs and YES to life. She also urged parents to provide proper guidance and counselling to their children in order for them to live a healthy life.

Youths are the backbone of society, and they can make an enormous contribution to the overall development of the nation if they stay away from drugs and other alcoholic substances, she added.

Speaking about the “Green and Clean West Kameng,” she stated that the mission to keep West Kameng clean and green began with the celebration of Earth Day on April 22nd, 2021.
Awareness campaigns are being held in various parts of the district in order to control deforestation and plant more trees in the area.

‘My team and I will go to any length to keep the district clean and green,’ she said. Meanwhile, the ZPC praised health and frontline workers for their selfless service in combating the pandemic.

Under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme of SBI, Bomdila, a Mahindra Scorpio was donated to the GRL Monastery, Bomdila. Suranjana Dutta, General Manager of NW-1, handed over the keys to the monastery authorities.

The bank also donated four lakhs sixty thousand rupees (4,60,000) to the State Horticulture Farm in Shergaon for the development of cold storage.

During the event, financial beneficiaries of the AtmaNirbhar Kishi Yojna (ANKY) and AtmaNirbhar Bhagwani Yojna (ANKY) were also recognised.

The district’s local communities put on a colourful display of cultural dances. The event was attended by the DC, Bomdila Karma Leki, SP B Reddy, HODs, PRI leaders, and members of the West Kameng District public.
