Arunachal Pradesh Chief minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday paid his tribute to the martyrs of Assam Rifles at Tulung La. He laid a wreath at the memorial and paid his respect to Late NK Nar Bahadur Chetri, RFN Ganesh Bahadur Chetri, RFN Ganesh Bahadur Chetri, Kishan Bahadur Chetri, who sacrificed their lives in the service of the country and countrymen.
Tulung La memorial commemorates the fallen Assam Rifles jawans that were ambushed by the Chinese forces in an unproved and unjustified incident in 1975. The PLA had crossed over into the Indian territory in south of Tulung La and fired at the soldiers that resulted in four deaths.
Khandu in a tweet said that patriotism & compassion for our motherland cannot be expressed more than our soldiers sacrificing their lives.

It is to be noted that, CM Khandu was on a 3 day tour to Mago, Chuna, Lungur & Jethang sector to meet the brave Indian Soldiers posted in the Indo-Tibet China border. He also visited the villages and met with the natives that reside along the bordering areas. He encouraged and motivated them to stay strong during these trying times with COVID-19 cases on the rise and LOC tensions.
Interacted with the villagers is Sulangthi, Rho & Jangda. Glad to know everyone is doing well & content.
Sulangthi is habituated by only two household. Yak grazing is their livelihood and they have stood their ground since generations, marking our presence on the border. pic.twitter.com/3keFK6RcNQ— Pema Khandu པདྨ་མཁའ་འགྲོ་། (@PemaKhanduBJP) October 21, 2020
