Govt residential complex inaugurated in Arunachal Pradesh

Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein, inaugurated the state-of-the-art Government residential complex of the Planning & Investment Department, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, located near Zoo Trijunction, Itanagar. The project, which was conceptualized during the financial year 2017-18, has been executed by the Urban Development Department with a total budget of Rs 33.50 Cr.

Designed meticulously, the residential complex offers 44 units of flats, including Type V (4 units), Type IV (16 units), Type III (8 units), Type II (8 units), and a Bachelor Barrack (8 units). This well-planned complex caters to the needs of officials and their families, providing a conducive environment for personal and professional growth.

Emphasizing the significance of the project, the complex serves as a model pilot project for other state departments in Arunachal Pradesh, showcasing the government’s commitment to employee welfare.

The premises boast a range of amenities, including a children’s play area, ample car parking, a power substation, elevated water tank, CC approach road, and stormwater drainage facilities.

During the inauguration event, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein commended the Planning Department for their prudent investment and praised the Urban Development Department for timely project completion. He urged the employees to use their allocated quarters responsibly, taking ownership of maintaining the complex with utmost sincerity.

Furthermore, Deputy Chief Minister Mein urged the Planning & Finance Department to devise a road map to replace NEFA days SPT-type buildings with permanent structures, integrating the latest technology in building and road construction for increased durability and reduced recurring expenses. He also emphasized the importance of considering all requirements, including electricity and water supply, in DPRs to ensure the buildings are effectively utilized upon completion.

Principal Secretary (Finance, Planning & Investment), Dr. Sharat Chauhan, expressed hope that the officers and officials of the Planning & Investment Department would work with enhanced dedication and efficiency after shifting to the new residential complex.

This landmark project is set to improve the quality of life for government officials and set new standards in housing infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh.
