Magnitude 4.0 earthquake strikes Pangin area in Arunachal Pradesh

A 4.0 magnitude earthquake rocked the Pangin area of Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh, on Friday morning, as reported by the National Centre for Seismology (NCS). Fortunately, no casualties or property damage have been reported yet, according to officials.

The NCS revealed that the earthquake’s epicenter was located north of Pangin in Siang district. The seismic event occurred on July 28, 2023, at 08:50:36 IST, with coordinates at 30.01 latitude and 98.48 longitude. The earthquake’s depth was recorded at 10 km, and it struck approximately 221 km NNW of Panging, Arunachal Pradesh, India.

This recent earthquake comes shortly after a magnitude 3.3 tremor hit Tawang district in the same northeastern state on July 22.
