PLA to hand over the five missing Arunachalee youths to the Indian Army

China’s People Liberation Army (PLA) will hand over the five missing Arunachalee youths to the Indian Army on 12 September, at a designated location. Union Sports minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted about the development.

According to reports, the PLA will hand over the youths at Damai in Lohit Valley popularly known as “Kibithu” under Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The five youth had gone missing from the Indo-China border in the Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh on September 2. They had reportedly gone hunting in the Sera-7 area of Nacho, the last administrative circle along the MacMohan Line from where they were allegedly abducted by the Chinese Army.

The five youths have been identified as Toch Singkam, Dongtu Ebiya, Ngaru Diri, Prasat Ringling and Tanu Baker.

However, this is not the first incident of the PLA releasing Indians who have unwittingly crossed over to the other side of the border this year.
