The Government of Assam on the initiative of the principal of East Siang Sainik School (ESSS), Commander Praveen Kumar Pola sanctioned an annual merit scholarship of Rs 40,000 to the domicile cadets of Assam studying in ESSS from the academic year 2021-22.

The principal expressed his gratitude to Mamata Hojai, Director of Elementary Education for the Assam government, for her swift action, and praised the hard effort of Subedar GSS Krishna and Kumar Bannu for taking the necessary steps to have the scholarship approved by the Assam government.

Principal Pola further informed that the school has also taken up the issue with the governments of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal too to sanction annual merit scholarships to their domicile cadets, studying in ESSS. 

He also mentioned that the government of Arunachal Pradesh has already sanctioned an annual merit scholarship of Rs 95,535 to all APST cadets studying in ESSS from 2018-19.
