After a high-speed chase, two dacoits were shot and one was apprehended by police in Goalpara, Assam. On Sunday, Assam’s director general of police (DGP), Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, confirmed the incident.

“That happened yesterday in Goalpara. While being shot at by the criminals, police had to chase them across the area of four police stations! But, in the end, the police triumphed,” the Assam DGP said.

Rafajuddin and Basit Ali, the two dacoits killed in the shootout, have been identified. Rashidul Islam has been identified as the other dacoit who has been apprehended.
