On Thursday, the Assam Congress slammed the state’s BJP-led government for the boat capsize incident in Majuli district on Wednesday evening.

Assam Congress president Bhupen Borah slammed the state government and the BJP, saying the saffron party “only cares” about the votes in the constituency.

“It (the BJP) is unconcerned about the election promises it made. Assam Congress president Bhupen Borah stated, “The BJP only cares about the votes in the constituency.” The state’s inland water transport minister, Chandra Mohan Patowary, has also been asked to resign by the Assam Congress.
