The Assam boxer displayed excellent footwork and used his years of experience to apply pressure to his RSPB opponent with precise punches.
Despite facing a difficult opponent, Thapa maintained his momentum and won 4-1 in the 63.5kg quarter-final.
Sachin and Varinder Singh (60kg) won their respective quarterfinals for the RSPB.
Sachin put on a dominant performance in the 54kg quarterfinal round, defeating Goa’s Roshan Zamir by a unanimous decision.
