Assam: Cattle smuggler killed & BSF jawan injured in Gunfight at India-Bangladesh border

In Assam’s South Salmara area, a gunfight broke out at the India-Bangladesh border. During the gunfight, one BSF soldier was seriously injured.

The firefight erupted, according to accounts, when a band of cattle smugglers attempted to cross into Bangladesh with cattle. When confronted, the cattle smugglers allegedly opened fire on BSF personnel.

Meanwhile, the BSF reported that the remaining smugglers had managed to flee the scene.

Md Mondal, a 23-year-old smuggler, has been confirmed as the deceased smuggler.

Mondal lived in the Mondal Para sector of the Mankachar police station. Meanwhile, the occurrence is the subject of an investigation.
