The family members of abducted ONGC employee Ritul Saikia was met by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on 18 May, 2021 in Titabar.

Saikia’s family was assured by the CM that the government is trying to release Ritul Saikia from the possession of ULFA (I).

ULFA (I) cadres kidnapped Saikia and two other ONGC employees from a Romanian workover rig of ONGC at Lakwa under the Sivasagar district on April 21, 2021.

The two other ONGC employees were rescued within a week of abduction by security forces from the Mon district of Nagaland.

Sarma informed Saikia’s family that Ritul is somewhere safe in Myanmar, as per information.
