The police administration has been ordered by the Assam government to harden security system at OIL and ONGC infrastructures in eastern Assam.

The Assam government’s issued this order after three technical staffers of ONGC were kidnapped by suspected ULFA-I militants.

The SPs of eastern and northeastern Assam districts have been asked by the state government to assess the interior areas and arrange security for OIL and ONGC under their territory.
