Assam: Identification of Physically handicapped People conducted in Chirang

On Tuesday, the office of the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Borobazar, under the Bijni Sub-Division of Chirang district, hosted a one-day programme for the identification of physically impaired people as well as a health check-up camp.

It was arranged by Chirang’s Social Welfare Department in partnership with Prerna, a non-governmental organisation.

Five specialised doctors from various professions, including ophthalmology, paediatrics, and orthopaedics, as well as two surgeons, were seen at the camp and selflessly gave their services to the people.

According to a social welfare department official, the health check-up camp benefited roughly 300 men and women in the community.

In the presence of Abhiram Mahanayak, Deputy Speaker, Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA), Gautam Das, Executive Member, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), District Social Welfare Officer Shyameswar Mushahary, and other social welfare department officials, the health check-up camp was inaugurated by Ajay Kumar Roy, MLA of Bijni constituency.
