Assam : MLA Leho Ram Boro succumbs to COVID

United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) MLA Leho Ram Boro from Assam’s Tamulpur constituency succumbed to COVID-19 on Saturday, May 29.

UPPL President Pramod Boro said, “We have lost our dearly Shri Lehoram Boro, MLA of Tamulpur LAC, today. His sudden demise is a significant loss to the Tamulpur region and the entire UPPL family. He devoted most of his life to the development and upliftment of the region”.

Boro was tested positive for COVID and was under treatment at Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH). Boro had a stroke and died in the hospital, Pramod stated.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his grievances to the bereaved family. 

By defeating Rangja Khungur Basumatary of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), Leho Ram Boro had won from the Tamulpur seat in the recently concluded Assam assembly elections.
