An 18-year-old student took over Assam Chief Minister’s official Twitter account, to support Children’s empowerment and participation.
Vandana Urang, from Namrup Tea Estate of Dibrugarh, took over the CMO’s Twitter account from 9 am for two hours, on the occasion of World Children’s Day.
Vandana posted about how her journey has been so far and expressed her thoughts on how children imagine their educational life in a post-pandemic world.
Through @CMOfficeAssam Vandana tweeted, “I feel that the environment in schools plays an important role – a good environment and innovative teaching methods, along with awareness on things like the ill-effects of use of addictive substances – will encourage children to continue and complete their education”.
As schools and colleges have reopened across the state, Vandana hopes that no child is left behind.
She also shared the winning contestant of an illustration challenge which was initiated by the Department of Education, Government of Assam, via Twitter this month.

I did my schooling from Namroop Lower Primary School, and now I am studying at the Namroop College. However, I feel, many children are not as lucky as me to get the chance to continue their education. #ReimagineEducation @UNICEFIndia @JonathanMadhu @purvi_ms pic.twitter.com/viC6Igw0ec

My friends from the Muskan Adolescent Girls Group have been an important part of my journey so far. We meet up regularly to discuss topics from gender equality, importance of menstrual hygiene to opportunities which concern our future employment. #KidsTakeOver pic.twitter.com/bQ6Evyz5Cu
