Assam: Vikram Phukan’s Dry Ice to be released on Sept 10

Dry Ice, a new play by Theatre Jil Jil Ramamani, will premiere digitally on SkillBox on September 10 with assistance from the India Foundation for the Arts. AGORA The Space in Guwahati will also host a public screening of Dry Ice. Vikram Phukan wrote and directed the play, which stars Akash Ghosalkar, Nihir Jain, and Sahir Mehta and introduces Akash Ghosalkar.

The play, which was created in cooperation with Deepmala Khera and Jai Khadi Khadilkar, examines loss and mourning in the internet age through the perspective of online queer communities, which are prone to both resilience and despair in equal measure. The crew worked remotely from six different locations in Delhi, Mumbai, Guwahati, and Pune to create this taped performance.

Skillboxes.com will host the play’s internet premieres from September 10 to 12. A physical screening will be held on September 12 at 3 p.m. in AGORA, The Space, for the Guwahati audience, followed by a panel discussion on ‘Nuances and Representation of Psycho-social Issues on Screen.’
