BJP appoints Narendra Singh Tomar as election in-charge for Assam

Cabinet minister Narendra Singh Tomar has been appointed as the election in-charge for poll-bound Assam by BJP and Minister of State Jitendra Singh has been appointed as the additional in-charge, stated a release signed by Arun Singh, the party’s General Secretary.

Tomar is the Cabinet Minister of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Singh is the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region.

BJP in an alliance with the AGP and UPPL will be contesting the Assembly polls scheduled for March or April this year.

BJP is targeting 100 plus seats in the 126-member Assembly.
