Assam Governor launches ‘Bodoland Super 50 Mission’; Educational Programme for BTR Youth

Bodoland Super 50 Mission

Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi today launched the ‘Bodoland Super 50 Mission,’ an initiative of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief – Pramod Boro that focuses on preparing Bodo youths for a variety of competitive examinations.

According to an official statement, the initiative aims to transform the lives of youths from economically disadvantaged areas of Assam’s five Bodo-dominated districts (Baksa, Chirang, Kokrajhar, Tamulpur and Udalguri).

According to a PTI report, the ‘Bodoland Super 50 Mission’ is similar to other well-known initiatives that help students overcome obstacles to achieve their goals, such as Anand Kumar’s Super 30 in Bihar, Oil India Super 30; ONGC Super 30; and Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS).

In his remarks at the event, the governor expressed his delight at the launch of the “much-needed” programme.
“If we are to consider the development of Bodoland, we must be self-sufficient,” he stated.

The Bodoland Super 50 Mission also intends to provide 11 months of high-quality free residential coaching and mentorship to BTR students who wish to gain admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other prestigious engineering institutes.

Meanwhile, each year, 50 candidates (10 from each of the districts of Baksa, Chirang, Kokrajhar, Tamulpur, and Udalguri) will be selected through an entrance examination to participate in the programme, according to the statement.
