Drug trafficking is a time-tested threat, with multi-billion-dollar profit margins making it a full-time job for easy money seekers and a threat in the Northeast, notably along the Assam-Nagaland border.

The two most infamous check gates for drug transit into Mainland India are the Assam-Nagaland border gates, one at the Dillai check gate and the other after passing Nagaland’s New Field check gate.

The Assam police officers stationed at both check gates have been causing serious harm to the drug cartels moving through.
