The cadets of 47 Assam R & V Sqn NCC, as part of the National Cadet Corps’ (NCC) Social Service and Community Development Project, carried out a Community Service Program at the Pramod Talukdar Old Age Home in Beltola, Assam, in an effort to instil a spirit of compassion and selfless service among younger generations for the elders.
The NCC Cadets served tea and eatables to the inmates of the old-age home and entertained them with a variety of cultural activities under the supervision of Col Shomir Bhatnagar, the unit’s Commanding Officer, and in the august presence of Dr Bibeka Saikia, Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara.
The inmates, according to a press release, took part in the activities with joy and enthusiasm.
In his remarks to the media, Dr. Saikia stated that the program’s overall goal is to develop qualities of selfless service in the younger generation while also instilling compassion for the society’s elders.
In addition, as part of the programme, the old-age home received wheel chairs, a fully automatic washing machine, a hot and cold water dispenser, and some medicines.
Nb Ris Ramesh Kumar, SQMD Bides Mitra, and L/Dfr BV Reddy, members of the unit’s staff, were also present.
