CBI conducts drive against corruption in 25 states

In more than 25 States and Union Territories, a nationwide ‘special drive was conducted against corruption by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), on Friday at the premises of several government departments.

As a part of preventive vigilance exercise, the special drive was carried out in 30 central government departments and organizations.

CBI Spokesperson RC Joshi said, “The joint surprise checks are being conducted to unearth any wrong-doing at places which are prone to corruptible practices while rendering services or implementing projects of the Government of India”.

The drive was conducted in different cities and towns which include Cachar (Assam), Badarpur, Shillong (Meghalaya), Agartala (Tripura), Tezpur & Guwahati (Assam), Imphal (Manipur), Port Blair, Itarsi, Agra, Singrauli, Goa, Meerut, Allahabad, Gorakhpur and others.

The CBI conducted the drive in different Departments which include Food Corporation of India, Railways, BSNL, GST, Postal Department, CSD Godown, North Coal Fields Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation, CPWD and Military Engineering Service.
