Guwahati-Howrah special express train derails at Chhaygaon

At around 1:36 p.m. today, four coaches of the Guwahati-Howrah Special Express train derailed at Chaygaon station.

About an hour after departing the Guwahati station, the train derailed.

According to the original report, no passenger injuries were recorded, and repair work is presently ongoing at the location, according to Northeast Frontier Railway’s CPRO.

The passengers of the impacted coaches have been transferred to other coaches, and all essential help has been provided, according to the CPRO.

“An Accident Relief Train and an Accident Relief Medical Equipment train were dispatched to the accident site as soon as we received the information,” the CPRO told TOI, adding that senior railway officials from the headquarters and Rangiya division are already on the scene and providing necessary assistance to all passengers.
