In the horrific Animesh Bhuyan mob lynching case, police in Assam’s Jorhat district have filed a 340-page charge-sheet. The charge-sheet names 14 defendants in the case, the most prominent of whom is deceased. A team of Jorhat police officers led by Deputy Superintendent K Bania and Inspector D Borah investigated the case.

“The team has submitted 340 page long Charge Sheet against 14 accused, 1among them being dead,” said Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta.

Mahanta added: “Today a team under DSP (S&I) K Bania and Inspector D Borah, completed the investigation of the case of mob lynching of Animesh Bhuyan in Jorhat exactly 50 days back.”

“I congratulate Team Jorhat and also Special DG (L&O) who supervised the case closely,” the Assam DGP further said.

“Animesh Bhuyan, a name forever etched on the conscience of people of Assam,” said DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta.
