Police seize 2 Yaba Tablets worth Rs 1 crore in Karimganj

During a combined operation by police and crime branch authorities at Deubari, Patharkandi in Karimganj district on Wednesday, two persons were arrested and Yaba pills worth about Rs. 1 crore were recovered. Sabbir Ahmed (40) and Jalal Uddin (40) were the people detained (45).

According to sources, a team of cops and crime branch officers launched an operation at Deubari and confiscated about 40,000 Yaba pills from Sabbir Ahmed’s business based on specific information. The confiscated contraband has a market worth of almost Rs. 1 crore. Sabbir and another individual, Jalal, were detained.

In the last several months, the Karimganj area / Barak Valley has experienced a lot of Yaba pill seizures and arrests in connection with the crimes. In July, a suspected drug dealer was apprehended with 600 Yaba pills in Chandrapur, Karimganj district, under the Kaliganj police outpost.

During a combined operation by Kaliganj (Karimganj district) and Cachar police in June, a suspected drug dealer was apprehended and about 30,000 Yaba pills were confiscated. Sonai, Cachar, was where the peddler was apprehended.
