Sonia Gandhi, the Congress president, has named Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi to the All India Congress Committee formed to plan and coordinate the 75th anniversary celebrations, which will last a year.

“The Congress president has constituted the following committee to plan and coordinate the one-year-long celebration of the 75th anniversary of Independence with immediate effect,” said All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary KC Venugopal in a press statement on Wednesday.

Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is the chairman of the committee formed by the Congress, according to Venugopal.
