More short-distance trains to be run in Assam by NF Railway

More short-distance trains will be run by NF Railway.

Northeast Frontier Railway has reintroduced a few more trains to improve connectivity for short-distance and inter-district travellers.

DEMU special services between Dibrugarh Town and Ledo stations have been restored. In addition, daily special train services between Tinsukia and Lumding stations will resume.

“The resumption of the services of these short-distance trains is expected to significantly benefit the short-distance passengers,” Guneet Kaur, chief public relations officer (CPRO) of NF Railway said in a statement.

The NF Railway CPRO announced that shortservices of Train No. 07906/07907 Dibrugarh Town-Ledo-Dibrugarh Town DEMU special will resume on a daily basis starting October 17, 2021 (except Saturday).

The train leaves Dibrugarh Town at 7:05 a.m. to arrive in Ledo at 10:15 a.m., and departs Ledo at 5:40 p.m. to arrive in Dibrugarh Town at 9:35 p.m., according to the CPRO.

Train No. 05902 Tinsukia-Lumding special, on the other hand, will run every day. This train began service on October 18, 2021, leaving Tinsukia at 7:15 a.m. and arriving in Lumding at 7:10 a.m.

Train No. 05901 Lumding-Tinsukia special will run daily beginning October 19, 2021, departing Lumding at 7:30 a.m. and arriving in Tinsukia at 7 p.m.

The details of these short-distance trains’ stoppages and timings are available on the IRCTC website, as well as in NF Railway’s various newspapers and social media platforms. Before embarking on their journey, passengers have been asked to review these details.

During the journey, passengers are asked to follow the Covid19-related safety measures and instructions issued by the State Government.
