Caretaker CM Biren Singh meets PM Modi ahead of govt formation in Manipur

N Biren Singh, the caretaker chief minister of Manipur, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi ahead of the government formation in Manipur on Wednesday.

PM Narendra Modi congratulated Biren Singh on the BJP’s “outstanding victory” in the Manipur assembly elections.

“Met N Biren Singh (Manipur caretaker CM) and congratulated him on BJP’s stupendous victory in the recently concluded Assembly Polls. Our Party is committed to working even harder to fulfil the aspirations of the people of Manipur,” said PM Narendra Modi.

Notably, Manipur’s caretaker chief minister N Biren Singh, former minister Th Biswajit Singh, and state BJP chief A Sharda Devi all left Imphal for New Delhi on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the top three Manipur BJP leaders are in New Delhi to discuss the formation of the state’s new government with the saffron party’s central leadership.

Moreover, a key decision on Manipur’s next chief minister is also expected to be made during a series of meetings planned.

Furthermore, Biren Singh will also meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

On his arrival on Tuesday, Biren Singh also met with BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda.

However, the BJP is set to form Manipur’s second successive government after winning 32 seats in the state assembly elections.
