BJP chief JP Nadda applauds Manipur, says state has great potential

JP Nadda, the national president of BJP said that Manipur has great potential to attain self-sufficiency and the goal of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, on Wednesday.

Nadda was addressing the state executive meeting of Manipur BJP in Imphal on Wednesday when he spoke about the state’s potential.

The occasion was attended by Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh and several party leaders.

J P Nadda said,“I would request the Manipur government to try and implement how local products can become a national brand, supporting the idea of vocal for local”.

“This in turn will help Manipur to achieve self-sufficiency,” said Nadda.

“Under the capable leadership of Modiji Northeast India has been in the mainstream, as far as development, connectivity, education and tourism are concerned,” he further said.

The state authorities and stakeholders were asked to continue with their fight against drugs by the BJP National President.

Nadda also praised Manipur for having the best Police Station in India.

Manipur is at the third position in terms of beneficiaries under the Matru Vandana Yojana regarding central schemes, Nadda said.

20,000 people out of 48,000 beneficiaries have already received the benefits of the scheme.

Under the Jan Dhan Yojana in Manipur, around 10 lakh new bank accounts have been opened, and under the Ujjwala Yojana the state have received 1.56 lakh gas connections.
