On the occasion of Ningol Chakkouba, Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh expressed his warm wishes to the people of the state.
For the people of Manipur, Ningol Chakouba is a very popular festival they look forward to celebrate. ‘Ningol’ means ‘married woman’ and Chakouba means ‘invitation for the feast’. In this festival, married women are invited to their parents’ home for a feast.
On this eve, clothes are being gifted to their ‘beloved’ sisters and daughters, and they go to market to buy necessary food items for the feast.
I convey my heartiest greetings and warm wishes to the people of Manipur, especially the Ningols, on the auspicious occasion of #NingolChakkouba.
May this festival foster the true spirit of love, goodwill and compassion in our society. pic.twitter.com/oS1OM9es4B— N.Biren Singh (@NBirenSingh) November 17, 2020
