Manipur : Concern over rise in Covid-19 cases; Health Ministry

In four states including Manipur over rise in Covid-19 cases serious concerns were shown by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
Health Secretary, Rajesh Kumar Bhushan said, “Manipur, Delhi, Kerala and West Bengal have been witnessing a spike in Covid19 cases in the last few days and it’s a matter of serious concern,”
In the past 24 hours, Manipur saw an increase of 54 active cases, while no cases were reported by the other three states.
“Manipur, Kerala, Delhi and West Bengal have been showing an increasing trend in the number of active COVID cases when compared to the month of October,” the official said.
India till date with more than 2,000 laboratories have conducted above 11 crore COVID tests.
76 lakhs cases of recovered COVID-19 patients were reported which is highest in the World, with positivity rate of 7.4 percent, and a recovery rate of around 92 percent.
Bhushan said “Active COVID-19 cases are now below 5.5 lakhs, which is only 6.8 percent of the total historical number of COVID cases reported so far”.
