The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Manipur is directed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to note that, no political advertisement should be published in print media without pre-certification from MCMC (Media Certifications and Monitoring Communities) on the poll day and one day prior to the poll day.

On November 7, the by-polls to four assembly constituencies in Manipur will be held.

The CEO was directed that that no undesirable events should come up due of inflammatory, misleading or hate advertisements.

The letter read, “No political party or candidate or any other organization or persons shall publish any advertisement in the print media on the poll day and one day before the poll day i.e. November 6-7”.
