The reconstruction process of the Irang Bailey Bridge will over by November 14 and will be opened for public, said Awangbow Newmai, Environment and Forest Minister, on Monday.
The bridge is believed as the second lifeline of Manipur, which is near Taobam village in Noney district on the Imphal-Jiribam National Highway (NH-37).
Speaking to the media persons,
Newmai said, to reconstruct the Bailey Bridge a group of 52 Engineer Regiment of the Indian Army along with National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) is working carefully and efficiently.
Newmai said due to non-availability of bidders even after the tender was passed, there has been a delay in the construction of the RCC Bridge.
Earlier a driver of a tipper truck lost its life, after the Bailey bridge collapsed over the Irang river, on November 1.
