At a function in Imphal, under the presence of Minister for Social Welfare, Henry Okram, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Thursday between Social Welfare Department, Government of Manipur, the National Institute of Social Defense, Government of India and Alankit Assignments Limited, New Delhi.

Henry Okram stated, “The toll-free National Helpline for Senior Citizens will be launched for the State under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Biren Singh in February 2021”.

The Helpline support provides grievance remedy mechanism for the senior citizens, information on Government schemes and programs for the welfare of senior citizens besides providing emotional support to help them age happily, he added.

Representing Government of Manipur, Director (Social Welfare) Ng. Uttam Singh signed the tripartite MoU and Sanjay Bhat, Assistant Vice President, Alankit Assignments Limited, New Delhi signed on behalf of the Service provider.
