A massive poppy destruction drive was carried out on 27th Jan, 202 at Harup forest range covering several villages. Teams of Kangpokpi district police and other government agencies of Kangpokpi conducted the drive as part of Government’s campaign ‘war on drugs’.

Around 90 persons were in the team comprising Addl. SP (L/O) Kpi, SDPO Gamnom Sapormeina & OC-Chalwa PS, SDO T. Waichong, RFO T. Waichong, NAB, 38 Assam Rifles & 44 Assam Rifles.

About 60 acres of poppy plants cultivated land was destroyed estimating damage of Rs. 3.6 Crore. A case has been registered at Kangpokpi PS in this regard.
