Meghalaya : BJP team discusses ILP with Union Minister of State

Various issues which also included the implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state was discussed by the state BJP delegation in New Delhi with Union Minister of State for Home GK Reddy on Thursday.

The team could not meet Home Minister Amit Shah due to his busy schedule.

Ernest Mawrie, the BJP’s state president said that Shah is visiting states and meeting him will not be possible soon, therefore they will return to the state in a day or two.

Mawrie said, “We raised our points on ILP during a detailed discussion that we had with him (Reddy). He assured us that he will take up the matter with the Home Minister and discuss it thoroughly”.

He said Amit Shah directed them to discuss the issues with Reddy.

“As directed, we held the discussions with the MoS (Home). We are not waiting any longer. We are returning,” Mawrie said.

RTI findings of misappropriation of funds under Special Assistant Grant in Garo Hills Autonomous District Council and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council were submitted to Reddy, Mawrie said.
