Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma visited Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on July 6(Tuesday), and asked her to intervene in the implementation and sanction of Externally Aided Projects (EAPs) funds.
Sangma said, the suggestion for the authorization of EAPs was done for infrastructure development initiatives in Meghalaya.
The Finance Minister gave assurance to settle the issue, said Sangma.
The EAPs are chief sources to increase the States’ resources for which external assistance plays an important role in the development process.
The Ministry of Finance, Government of India is the Nodal Department for acquiring foreign help from multilateral/bilateral agencies, and is accountable for all policy issues related to external support from Central Government.
