Meghalaya : Discussion on Green Meghalaya Movement

The general rules for the construction of institutions under the government’s Green Meghalaya Movement were discussed by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday.

A Green Meghalaya Movement project has been undertaken by the government to reverse climate change in the state and plans to put a system by June 5, 2021.

Active community participation will be ensured by the project to reach the goals.

Necessary training will be provided to the local youths by the state government to ensure contribution from them in conserving the degrading environment.

To handle the climate change matter, an adaptation policy has been emphasized by the chief minister.

Mitigation activities like reducing greenhouse gas emissions and afforestation has also been stressed upon by the Meghalaya Government.
