Meghalaya: Inauguration of New Office Building of DIPR

The new office building of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) was inaugurated by Meghalaya IPR Minister James Sangma on Thursday at Lachumiere in Shillong.
The new building, located at the centre of Lower Lachumiere, will also house a central government office – Passport Kendra office.
In his address, Sangma expressed his gratitude to the former IPR ministers for turning this dream into a reality and hoped that with the new workspace, the officials will be able to add new interventions to augment the services of the department.
“The way I see it, the DIPR office building will turn out to be one of the most prominent landmarks of Lower Lachumiere in particular and Shillong in general,” the IPR minister said.
While pointing out that the DIPR, being the press and publicity wing of the government, has a crucial role to play, Sangma said this role is not restricted only to the day to day governance at various levels down to the grassroots but also in highlighting all the different schemes that are being initiated and implemented by the government.
