Different NGOs of Meghalaya counting hundreds in members assembled to protest against implementation of the Inner Line Permit in the state.
Among the NGOs, the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU), Federation of Khasi, Jaintia and Garo People (FKJPG), Hynniewtreo National Youth Front (HNYF), Ri-Bhoi Youth Federation (RBYF), Garo Students’ Union (GSU), A’chik Youth Welfare Organization (AYWO) and the Association of Democracy and Empowerment (ADE), participated.
Among other demands include:
1. Speedy construction of entry-exit points
2. Scrap Citizenship Amendment Act,
3. Inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the 8th Schedule
