Meghalaya : No confidence motion against government

A “No Confidence Motion” is decided to be imposed by Congress against the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) Government claiming its failure in all sectors.

The no confidence motion would be on effect from Tuesday, reported Mukul Sangma, Leader of Opposition . The Opposition will act according to the wisdom of Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh, if he would take up the motion.
The Conrad K Sangma-led government has been unsuccessful in safeguarding the likes of the state while also claiming scams and illegalities that deteriorated the law and order in the state, claimed Former Chief Minister of Meghalaya.
To overbalance the MDA government which has too many temporary alliances, the motion is seen as a controversy.
Mukul Sangma said, “It depends on the conscience and realization of the members of the House,” when was asked if the opposition thinks it can dis-balance the government.
Including three Independents the MDA has 41 MLAs, while the Congress has 19 MLAs in the 60-member House.
