A circular was issued on November 19 by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of East Garo Hills to all the departments in the district to process all future meetings and reviews paperless.
The DC stated, “This results in unnecessary wastage of paper, as the data is already presented on the screen. For the convenience of all attendees, the presentation can also be shared to everyone’s phone via email or WhatsApp”.
Tembe appealed to all departments saying, “Please make efforts to go paperless in your review meetings. This one small step will drastically reduce your paper requirement while also cutting expenses. The environment will benefit too with fewer trees being chopped off for paper”.
